Mark A. Holtzclaw

District-Division: 082-18
Military Veteran: N/A
College Degree: M.S.W., M.P.A., M.L.I.S.
Leadership Certification: Level 1

Mark Holtzclaw joined the Coast Guard Auxiliary in 2018 and is currently serving as the Vice Flotilla Commander for 082-18-04 in Newark, Ohio, and Division Staff Officer for Member Training.

Mark's affiliation with the Navy and all things water began when he was born in the U.S. Naval Hospital at Guantanamo Bay Cuba in the ‘60s and continued through his childhood after his father retired as a Chief Warrant Officer.

Mark grew up in St. Augustine, Florida. After college, he enjoyed a twelve-year career in Florida state government public service, followed by a twenty-year career in the information technology industry as an information technology consultant. He has been teaching public administration part-time with University of Phoenix for ten years and Valdosta State University for seven years.

Divorced with three wonderful adult children and one grandchild, Mark is currently a doctoral candidate working toward an Ed.D. in Leadership with the American College of Education, hoping to finish in 2021. He credits the Auxiliary with providing him excellent continuous learning opportunities and self-improvement. Auxiliary flotillas are foundational and depend on all members to embrace their leadership responsibilities and step up to challenges when needed. The great people in our organization and the U.S. Coast Guard are the keys to our success!
