Return to Flotilla 9-10's Home Page.

The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary has many responsibilities, but on Sunday, March 8, 2015 , Flotilla 9-10 exemplified fellowship and family participation for our new members at the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Operations Center “Open House” from noon to 4 PM.

Our flotilla leadership focuses on recruiting new members, plus spouses and families, mentoring them and bringing them into the flotilla family. New members, long time Auxiliarists who have 20 years of dedicated service, Auxiliarist "snow birds" and visitors are always welcome at our family friendly events.

Flotilla 9-10 demonstrated: Honor, Respect and Devotion to Duty during our open house.

Over 24 members and spouses shared refreshments, observed live radio communications for an auxiliary patrol in the communications room by Dave Scothern, FSO-CM (Communications) on duty as “Watchstander”.

The participants observed AUXFAC (Auxiliary Facility) “The Guardian” perform docking procedures just outside the Operations Center building.

Current and longtime members demonstrated their radio communication skills, docking techniques and getting underway procedures. This type of event is an excellent opportunity to build “Team 9-10”.

The "Open House" was very rewarding for all those involved.
