While the USCG Auxiliary serves multi-missions on behalf of the U.S. Coast Guard, none are as important as recreational boating safety. Through its varies activities like boat safety checks, offering varies boat safety courses and local boat patrols, the USCG Auxiliary promotes water safety tailored for the recreational boating public. Understanding on-the-water navigation is an essential component to boating safety. Knowing the "rules of the road" like reading navigation buoys and markers and how to operate your boat when interacting with other watercraft are all key to safe and enjoyable boating.
