USCG Reserve Emblem

The emblem of the Coast Guard Reserve is similar to that of the Coast Guard itself: a thirteen-stripe shield within concentric circles, superimposed upon two old-fashioned anchors, crossed at right angles. The inscription within concentric circles is “U.S. Coast Guard Reserve” instead of “United States Coast Guard 1790.” The Coast Guard motto, Semper Paratus, is also omitted. - From What the Citizen Should Know about the Coast Guard by Hickman Powell (1941)

USCG Auxiliary Ensign

The flag of the Coast Guard Auxiliary consists of the emblem of the Auxiliary in white, on a blue field. The emblem is centered on the flag. The fly of the flag is one and six-tenths of the hoist (the “hoist” of a flag is its width, and the “fly” of a flag is its height). - From 1955 Auxiliary Manual CG-305

Efficiency Pennant

An Auxiliary vessel rated “excellent” was entitled to fly, above the Auxiliary flag, a long, narrow, blue pennant inscribed “U.S.C.G.A. Efficiency”. - Per Stephen Marthouse, BA-AHMC
