Welcome to the Flotilla 6-3, District 13 Web Site
Welcome to Tillamook Bay Flotilla 63
Serving Garibaldi and Tillamook, OR
The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary was established by Congress in 1939 to assist the Coast Guard in promoting boating safety. It boasts more than 30,000 members from all walks of life who receive special training so that they may be a functional part of Team Coast Guard.
Flotilla 63 is one of three Flotillas in Division 6 of the Northwest District - US Coast Guard Auxiliary. The Northwest District encompasses Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana. Flotilla 63 members work closely with and support the Active-Duty personnel at Station Tillamook Bay in Garibaldi, Oregon.
What we Do
The Auxiliary is more than recreational boating safety. Auxiliarists assist the Coast Guard in non-law enforcement programs such as public education, vessel safety checks (including kayaks and canoes), boat safety patrols, search and rescue, maritime security, environmental protection and Coast Guard Academy introduction programs for youth.
We regularly serve alongside our active-duty shipmates serving as communications watch standers, uninspected passenger vessel inspectors, and Commercial Fishing vessel inspectors. We are training resources for air and sea operations, numerous duties related to environmental protection and homeland security, and even as chefs! In fact, there are nearly two dozen "qualifications" open to Auxiliarists willing to put in the time and training.
Collectively, Auxiliarists volunteer over 4.5 million hours per year and complete nearly 500,000 missions – a true force multiplier for the Coast Guard!
Membership
Membership in the Auxiliary is open to persons 17 years of age and older. We are organized into 16 districts nationwide, comprised of 171 divisions with approximately 980 flotillas. No matter where you live, there is a flotilla near you.

Vessel Safety Check and Boat Inspections
We offer recreational Vessel Safety Checks and boat inspections to ensure you have all the federally required equipment during this boating season. Click here to review the federal requirements and request a safety check for your vessel.
There is no charge for the inspection or for the current year’s decal. We can let you know which boat ramps or boating events we are attending, or you can ask us to stop by to inspect your boat.
Recreational Boating Safety Courses
Many states require recreational vessel operators to have a Boaters Safety Card which signifies they have taken an approved Boater’s Safety course. Click here for a list of courses near you.
Contact Us: Call or email us here if you are interested in more information or would like to attend one of our monthly meetings held on the third Tuesday.
