PA Booth at Tustin Police Department’s Open House

September 7th, 2024 

Members of Flotilla 06-03 sponsored a PA Booth at the Tustin Police Department’s 27th Open House at Tustin City Hall on September 7th, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The Open House featured members of the Tustin Police and Fire Departments including live demonstrations by motorcycle officers, SWAT officers and helicopter teams. 

Even though the weather was pushing the century mark, the event was attended by an estimated 1200 members of the community. Police officials thought is was the best Open House in their history. 

The Auxiliary Booth was organized by Flotilla 06-03 FSO-HR Connie Trejo and supported by District Captain, Wayne Palmer; SO-VE, Rick Weiss; FSO-IS Victor Serrano; and Vice Flotilla Commander, Joe Benton. Also in attendance were Flotilla Commander Abdo Akil and Division Commander, Garry Nelson. 

The PA Booth displayed a wide range of boating safety literature and recruiting information. Additionally, Coast Guard themed coloring books, activity books and crayons were provided and were very popular with the younger attendees. As always Coastie and his buddy Rick Weiss were on hand to entertain the children.
