Welcome to the Flotilla 7-8, District 11NR Web Site

 Bear Lake Marina  Bear Lake

Our name says Garden City, but we are based in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Flotilla 7-8 was founded in 1982 in Garden City, Utah with 16 initial members from Salt Lake City, Ogden, and Brigham City who all boated on Bear Lake.  Most of the members owned sailboats with just a few power boats.

Since then, over the years, more and more of our members live in Salt Lake and Utah Counties and we use power boats exclusively. We have members who drive to Bear Lake each weekend during the summer months for safety patrols and members who are active on Utah Lake in addition to supporting the surrounding mountain lakes as needed. We work closely with the Utah State Parks rangers promoting boating safety, boating education, and operational patrols in addition to conducting vessel safety checks, marine dealer visits, and communications training.

We are always eager to welcome good people who love boating and boating activities to join us in helping to promote safe boating throughout Utah.  The Coast Guard Auxiliary provides education to the public and operation support to the Coast Guard and the state of Utah, but it is not necessary to have a boat or work on the water to help. The Auxiliary needs mission support as well, and are always looking for individuals willing to provide leadership, administrative, or technical skills.  Why not you?
