Flotilla Boat

Above: Our Flotilla Boat! A donation from the Harrison County Sheriff's Office, this vessel gets plenty of use for training and safety patrols!

Who We Are

Most people have never heard of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary. If you're one of them, have a read, and explore our site!

We're volunteers working to make our local boating community safer. We are friends and neighbors. We're about camaraderie, teamwork, and - most importantly - promoting public safety on the water. We collectively give millions of hours of service to the Coast Guard and our local communities each year.

Needless to say, we keep ourselves busy. We aren't just some club that collects dues and essentially does nothing. We train, we work, we protect, we prevent, and we save.

We regularly support our "Gold Side" Coast Guard shipmates by doing safety patrols, assisting in Search and Rescue (SAR) operations, providing support during air drop training, establishing safety zones for special events, and much more. Who knows? You could even save someone's life!

It doesn't matter what you know or don't know about boating. In keeping with the Coast Guard's motto of Semper Paratus ("Always Prepared"), we provide our members with all the training they might need. And these aren't just job-specific skills that you'll only use when you're with us. This training and these skills will prove invaluable time and time again in your personal life - on and off of the water.

So, if you enjoy boating, helping others, and learning useful new skills, we just may be the organization for you! We're open to all US Citizens age 17 and up!
