Please follow us on Facebook We are the Big Pine Key Coast Guard Auxiliary, the civilian arm of the United States Coast Guard and an integral part of a large national, civilian volunteer organization. Our history, roles, and mission has been well documented, and you can learn more about the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary by following this link to the Coast Guard Auxiliary's Story.

Members of the Big Pine Key Flotilla actively patrol the waterways surrounding the Florida Keys. Our activities are varied and include teaching "Boating Skills and Seamanship" programs to the boating public, regular inspections of Navigational Aids in the waters of the Florida Keys, public announcements for Safety Events, marine visitations to our partners in the marine, tourist and recreational industry, courtesy vessel safety checks, and regular watch standing at the Coast Guard Stations in the area including Key West and Marathon.

Boat crew training
Our Flotilla on Big Pine Key has approximately 40 members. We are a volunteer organization that supports the Coast Guard in any way that benefits and serves the Coast Guard mission. Our members are made up of full time residents as well as seasonal residents, all of whom desire to give back to their community.  Some of our members are retired and some are still actively employed. Above all, we are a family with a strong working relationship with each other so that we can remain a “TEAM” with the ultimate goal of promoting Boating Safety in the Florida Keys.
Award Presentation

We invite you to attend one of our meetings, held on the second Thursday night of every month, beginning at 7:00 pm at the Dallas MacDonald (AARP) Senior Citizen Center, located at 380 Key Deer Blvd. on Big Pine Key behind the fire station.  Join us and become an active member of your local Coast Guard Auxiliary.
