Join the Coast Guard Auxiliary
Joining the Coast Guard Auxiliary is a great way to give back to the community while getting a great education and fellowship. For dozens of reasons why you should join, click on Join Us Now! in the top menu. We hope you'll come to one of our meetings or call us. For more information click here.
The United Coast Guard Auxiliary is the recreational boating safety arm of the United States Coast Guard. We perform vessel safety exams, teach safe boating classes, perform on water patrols. We are currently rebuilding our Aux Air operations program as well.
Flotilla 26-02 is located on Lake Wylie in South Carolina. This lake has the distinction of passing through two states, North Carolina and South Carolina. We patrol the lake in both states.
What's Your WHY?
From member Adam DeLuca:
Adam credits his relationship with his (now deceased) wife, Hanna, as his reason for joining the Auxiliary. He stated, “The Coast Guard has interested me since I was young, but life took me on a different path. I first learned of the Auxiliary last year when Hanna told me she was a member back in Indiana. I was immediately interested and sent in an interest form right away. Hanna inspires me with her drive and desire to work and serve as much as she possibly can, even with all the difficulties she faces on a daily basis (cystic fibrosis). Being a member of the Auxiliary allows me to see and learn how the USCG operates while serving my community. I'm excited to learn even more as I continue to serve.”
Adam is a certified Vessel Examiner, Program Visitor, and earned his AUXOPS status. We are excited to see his growth as a member in the Auxiliary!
