About
one in five recreational boating deaths are associated with paddlecraft
(kayak, canoe and SUP). Paddling activities are increasingly popular,
but most paddlers take to the water with little education concerning the
risks and how to mitigate them.
This presentation provides an overview of AUXPAD and the many ways we can promote paddlecraft safety.

You do not
need to be an AUXPAD Operator to promote paddlecraft safety ashore. We
educate paddlers through vessel exams, program visitation, and public
outreach. Mike Moloney will be sharing his experience with these
activities in the Portland Maine community.
This Zoom session is for anyone considering one of our three AUXPAD Academies in June. This session is particularly important for first year participants but it will also serve as a preparation for re-qualifying AUXPAD Operators.
