Welcome to the Division 10, District 5SR Web Site

Since 1939, the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary has safeguarded our Nation’s maritime interests in the coastal areas and the heartland, at sea, and around the globe.  We are the uniformed volunteer component of the US Coast Guard that protects the boating public, the maritime economy and the marine environment, defends our maritime borders, and assists those in peril.

WHO
WE ARE IN DIVISION 10

Division 10 in the Fifth District Southern Region has an Area of Responsibility in southeastern North Carolina extending from Topsail Beach, North Carolina south to the North Carolina/South Carolina border. The Division includes three flotillas which are the “front lines” of our operations. Division 10 has about 240 diverse volunteer members who come from all walks of life from business, government, military, medical, education, service and a variety of other background.  They share the common goal of wanting to volunteer in an organization that really does “make a difference”.

WHAT
WE DO

Division 10 supports the primary mission of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary: To contribute to the safety
and security of our citizens, ports, waterways and coastal regions. We balance our missions of Recreational Boating Safety and Coast Guard Support with Maritime Homeland Security and other challenges.  To fulfill this mission, we conduct the following operations.
  • Safety and Security Patrols – Surface and Air
  • Search and Rescue
  • Radio Communications
  • Recreational Boating Safety
  • Recreational and Commercial Fishing Vessel Exams
  • Public Education
  • Pollution Patrols & Response
  • Homeland Security
