The US Coast Guard Auxiliary is very active in the Albany, NY area throughout the year. Our local team of 29 volunteers engages in vital missions as part of Team US Coast Guard. Those include:

  • Surface Operations (aboard USCG and Auxiliary vessels)
  • Marine Safety & Environmental Protection
  • Marine Dealer & Public Visitations
  • Boating Safety & Navigation Class Instruction
  • Courtesy Vessel Examinations
  • Line Handling for USCG Cutters
  • Telecommunications Operations
  • Administrative Support Operations

Area of Responsibility (AOR)

The Albany, NY flotilla of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary operates north to south from Schuylerville, NY to Saugerties, NY and west to east from Erie Canal Lock 7 to the eastern edge of NY State. The Albany, NY team is active 12 months a year.
