Flotilla and member Awards

Awards calculation

Awards for District level recognition in D1SR

In D1SR most district level awards are based on a point system. They are also often leveled out by using a per capita formula.  This means that large Flotillas do not get the top awards just because of their size.  The bigger you are the more you are expected to do to earn top honors.

These awards are covered in the D1SR procedures manual at this link

10-13 Awards form D-Train 2024

These are the awards that 10-13 earned at D-Train '24 for all our work in 2023.  Many of these awards were so high on the chart that they also help result in similar awards for Division 10.  Well done to all.

National Commodores 3 Star Diversity Award

The Flotilla has once again earned the National Commodores 3 star Diversity awards for both 2022 and 2023.  Brazo Zulu 10-13

Top Flotilla in the Nation

Flotilla 10-13 is consistently one of the most active flotillas in the nation. We have also been honored by Boat/U.S. as "Flotilla of the Year" as the best flotilla in the Nation for 2002, 2004 and again in 2015.

The Coast Guard took over the calculation and determination for this award and made a few changes to the criteria for determining the top flotilla. Flotilla 10-13 brought home this award again in 2018 above and 2022 (awarded in 2023) under this revised criteria.

No award was given in 2020 due to the pandemic. By policy a flotilla cannot win this award 2 years in a row so we will need to wait until the end of this year before we are again eligible. There are more than 800 flotillas in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands, it is truly an honor to get this award so many times.  BRAVO ZULU to the 10-13 team.

We set the standard for volunteerism in the best volunteer organization in the nation.
