Pamela K. Chaffee DSO-PE

Public Education trains and certifies instructors, and organizes and presents classes on boating for the public.  PE also participates with Member Training in training US Coast Guard and Coast Guard Auxiliary personnel.  A person certified in the USCG Aux PE program is qualified to teach all branches of U.S. Military personnel.

PE’s main objective is in support of the U.S. Coast Guard’s mission to improve recreational boating safety. Recreational boating safety is a main focus of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary as a whole, as identified by the U.S. Coast Guard Commandant.  Your role as an educator in the USCG Auxiliary is crucial to mission success.

District Eighth Western Rivers Public Education strives to provide exceptional boating safety education to the American public with the aim of reducing loss of life, personal injury and property damage to recreational boaters; and to deliver the highest possible quality training, resources, and timely materials in support of our flotilla instructors and public education staff officers who are furnishing such boating safety education.
