Navigational Aids

The Coast Guard Auxiliary supplements the local Coast Guard ANT (Aids to Navigation Team) by regularly surveying the local navigational aids that the ANT may not frequently observe. We are tasked with reporting any defect or deficiency in federal aids to navigation, to ensure our markers are always “watching properly”. Auxiliarists certified as Aids to Navigation Verifiers are also responsible for chart updating and coordinating private navigation markers, such as No Wake Zones, with the cognizant Coast Guard Aids to Navigation (ANT) Team.
