Leadership Competency Certification is the process by which a person proves that he or she has the knowledge, experience and skills to perform the tasks required of leadership. The proof comes in the form of a certificate which is earned by meeting the requirements at each competency level.
It is important to note that certifications are a demonstration of ability or knowledge. Leadership Competency Certification shows members and the Chain of Leadership and Management (COLM) that you are committed to professional, sound leadership and are well-trained. It gives them confidence in your abilities and knowledge. Certification makes you more valuable to the Auxiliary. Certification also opens up leadership advancement opportunities. You will have a competitive advantage over candidates without certificates.
Requirements for Level 1 Leadership Competency Certification:
______ Core Training (including Basic Qualification Course II (BQCII)
______ Leadership Competency – Level 1 Test
______ Auxiliary Administrative Procedures Course (APC)
______ Auxiliary Flotilla Leadership Course (AFLC) – on-line or in classroom
______ FEMA Effective Communications (IS-242.series)
Effective 1 February 2022 provide your IS Officer a copy of the FEMA IS-242 completion certificate so it can be entered into AUXDATA II. Verify with your IS Officer that all other training has been recorded in AUXDATA II as you complete the requirements. A report is sent to your DIRAUX for issuance of the Leadership Competency Certificate.
