Flotilla Commander

FC Patrick Logan

Mr. Logan joined the Cape Cod Canal Flotilla in the summer of 2009. He first learned about the Coast Guard Auxiliary from a co-worker who did commercial vessel safety inspections for the Auxiliary. Patrick chose to join the Auxiliary to gain valuable experience in the maritime industry, learn more about the Coast Guard and to network with other like-minded people.

Now after many years, Mr. Logan is a qualified Vessel Examiner and Instructor. Mr. Logan completed the Flotilla Leadership Course in 2015 and earned his Master's Degree in 2016. He has a combined 5 year experience in maritime law enforcement. Mr. Logan is also a decorated US Army veteran and served in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Vice Flotilla Commander

VFC William Plikaitis

Mr. Plikaitis joined the Auxiliary’s Flotilla 11-08 in 2018 and has served as Vessel Examiner, FSO-PB, FSO-MA, FSO-CM and now VFC. He has been able to utilize many of his skills developed as a former paramedic of over sixteen years, instructor and administrator for the Office of Emergency Services Training at UMASS/Boston’s Division of Continuing Education in the Downtown Center (that actually fits on his business card!) and currently as an Airside Operations Specialist/Airport Certified Employee with duties that include Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting (ARFF), wildlife hazard mitigation, inspections and more at the newly renamed Cape Cod Gateway Airport in Hyannis. Mr. Plikaitis continues to be an active member of the Falmouth Amateur Radio Association and holds a General Class Amateur (Ham) Radio License.

He continues to work on achieving his PQS-Telecommunications in support of his role as FSO-CM. Anyone interested in becoming a licensed Ham operator and contributing to the Auxiliary’s radio mission should contact him. Mr. Plikaitis commits to do his best to support FC Logan's ambitious agenda as well as all the FSOs and each member of the flotilla in their pursuit of individual goals to improve the overall health and relevance of our organization.

Immediate Past Flotilla Commander

IPFC Debra Bryant

Ms. Bryant joined the Auxiliary’s Flotilla 11-08 in 2018 and serves as Vessel Examiner, FSO-IS, FSO-SR, and the outgoing Flotilla Commander. She has also served as the ADSO-SR and is the current SO-VE.

Ms. Bryant was involved in Emergency Medical Services as an EMT, prior to joining the US Army Reserves. She was a medic in the Reserves for 10 years in TX. She deployed to Honduras, C.A. to monitor jobsites for an Engineer Battalion while they were building schools and roads for the local communities after Operation Just Cause.

She transferred to the Army National Guard, where she completed the Non-Commissioned Officers Academy. She went on to attend school at Fort Hood, TX as a Quartermaster, Armorer and HAZMAT certifier. She was deployed as a member of SFOR-7 to Bosnia-Herzegovina for most of the year 2000. She retired from the military in 2003 after 21 years of service.

While in the military, on a part-time basis, she worked full-time for the US Treasury as an Insolvency Manager. She moved back to MA, from Texas, in 2017 after retiring with 30+ years with the Treasury. Within a year after moving back to MA, Ms. Bryant joined the Auxiliary.

Ms. Bryant is now a tax professional with her own business and states ‘it keeps the boat in the water.’
