Division Commander Peter DeBakker

Mr. DeBakker is the DCDR (Division Commander) for The Cape & The Islands.

He joined the Auxiliary in 2010 and, as a member of the Chatham Flotilla, he held appointed positions as FSO-PB (Publications), FSO-MT (Member Training) FSO-PE (Public Education) and ADSO-DV (Assistant District Staff Officer – Diversity).

Mr. DeBakker previously held elected positions as VFC (Vice Flotilla Commander), FC (Flotilla Commander) for the Chatham Flotilla, and VCDR (Vice Division Commander).

He completed the AUXOP Program, and is a Coxswain and Certified Instructor.

He holds a Bachelor Degree in Science as well as an MBA, and professionally worked for Caterpillar and Foster-Miller in engineering, program and business development capacities.

Division Vice Commander Tim Howell

Mr. Howell is Vice Commander (VCDR) of The Cape & Islands Division.

He joined the Nauset Flotilla in August of 2020 and holds the appointed positions of Flotilla Staff Officer Communication Services (FSO-CS), Member Training (FSO-MT), Operations (FSO-OP) and Auxiliary Unit Coordinator - USCG Station Provincetown (AUC).

He previously held the elected offices of Flotilla Commander (FC) and Vice Flotilla Commander (VFC). Mr. Howell is an Operational Auxiliarist having completed the AUXOP advanced training program and is a certified coxswain, instructor and vessel examiner.

He retired From General Electric in 2018 after a 35-year career in the energy industry. During his down time, he enjoys boating and fishing.
