The Q-Directorate, one of the four directorates within the Response and Prevention Group, oversees all National Emergency Management (EM) and Disaster Response staff positions. It Also manages all Coast Guard Auxiliary EM activities and supports district EM operations when requested.
The Q-Directorate maintains a National Incident Management Dashboard with real-time information updated by multiple sources. This platform provides senior leadership of the Coast Guard and Auxiliary with a centralized site for situation reports (SITREP) from emergency management officers in affected areas across the country.
The Auxiliary Emergency Management and Disaster Response Directorate is led by an appointed director and deputy director, with the support of division chiefs, branch chiefs, and branch assistants. The national staff oversees a range of programs, including Operations , Everbridge , Training, Planning, Logistics, and Communications . While most positions do not require specific EM qualifications, many staff members hold incident command system (ICS) and other specialty certifications.
