Jerry Ostermiller

Welcome to the D13 Auxiliary History Collection

The purpose of the D-13 History Project is simply collect and preserve any and all information about the accomplishments, special projects, successes and programs as well as recognizing the members involved in order to save such information in the National Coast Guard Achieves.
As a retired professional Historian and Cultural Resource Specialist whose life long career
includes serving in Executive positions for the Bureau of Land Management, the National Park
Service, the State of Idaho and also as C.O. of the Columbia River Maritime Museum, a member
of the Oregon State Heritage Commission, and as the first President of the National Coast
Guard Museum Association, I am honored to be appointed a District Staff Officer to now serve
as the D-13 Aux Historian.

GOALS

My goal is to build a proper “history capture vehicle” which will be made available to each Division and their flotillas. This will take the form of a modern web based system which will make it easy for each unit to transfer all their unit history as well as timely special project activities to our new D-13 Aux History Archives.  get

If you have electronic copies of your unit's history,  GET started by filling out the form below with description and any questions. you will be contacted for submission.
