Dear Family AfFAIR Participant (Coast Guard & Coast Guard Auxiliary) ~

The Family AfFAIR will be here almost before we know it. We would like to take this opportunity to first thank you for your upcoming participation and secondly just include a few reminders to help the event go smoothly. The Family AfFAIR event is set for Saturday, March 14th from 10:00am to 3:00pm at MCC High School in Scottville, Michigan. Please remember as noted in application to make sure your booth is staffed the entire time of the event. Please do not tear down early as this is a disappointment to families that can’t come to our event until a little later in the day.

Remember you must provide all the tables, chairs and equipment necessary for the successful operation of your booth. Also please note that there is no internet access from the school to protect their servers. Remember if you are in a classroom these items are often limited so please be prepared. The Family AfFAIR does not provide any of these items nor does MCC for the day of the event. It is your responsibility to make sure the classroom is back to its original state when you leave. Also as noted in the application please make sure you have checked with our local health department on any licenses that may be needed by your organization on the day of the event; popcorn machines, cotton candy etc.,

All set up for the Saturday event needs to take place on Friday, March 13th from 4:00-7:00. Theses times are not an option as we must work around the schedules of the school.

Your booth location is: (Please check in on Friday for exact placement via the front high school entrance)
(Please remember for those of you in the gym there is to be no food/drink)

As stated in our initial correspondence, there will be an award for the most child-interactive booth at the Family AfFAIR. A judging team will be evaluating booths in the morning. After judging, the team will present the name of the winning booth to the Steering Committee for announcement at approximately 12:00. The winner will receive a traveling plaque that can be displayed the rest of the day and kept until the following year.

Should you have any questions about either your booth or about the Family AfFAIR in general, please do not hesitate to contact Angie at 843-2410. We want to make this an exciting, fun-filled day for all families in Mason, Oceana, Lake and beyond!

With your help, the Family AfFAIR is and will be a WONDERFUL SUCCESS!

Sincerely,
Family AfFAIR Steering Committee
