Auxiliary Mission

•To promote and improve recreational boating safety;
•To provide a diverse array of specialized skills, trained crews, and capable facilities to augment the Coast Guard and enhance safety and security of our ports, waterways, and coastal regions; and
•To support Coast Guard operational, administrative, and logistical requirements.

Sarasota Flotilla 84 is aligned within District 7 of national US Coast Guard Auxiliary.  District 7 isThis is a map of District 7 of the Coast Guard.  divided into sectors. The sector addressing the unique needs of South West Florida is Sector St. Petersburg.

Sector St. Petersburg is broken into 5 divisions (Division 7, 8, 9, 11, and 12). Sarasota is part of division 8 and division 8 consists of 5 flotillas.
Flotilla 8-1 – Manatee
Flotilla 8-2 – Longboat Key
Flotilla 8-4 – Sarasota
Flotilla 8-6 – Venice
Flotilla 8-7 – Englewood

Division 8 is closely aligned with United States Coast Guard Station Cortez:4530 124th St Ct W, Bradenton, FL 34209.

 

 

In addition to supporting the public and needs of our area of responsibility, we also function as a force multiplier to fulfill the responsibilities of the Coast Guard. Below are examples of these activities
