DSO-T Daren Lewis District 13
The District Staff Office for Technology makes a continuing commitment to try and find ways to make the job of the Flotilla Commander a little easier and more effective. We consider the Flotilla Commanders the backbone of the District—and the U.S.C.G. Auxiliary in general. This is done through researching new technology ideas that are easy to use, have little to no cost, and easily adaptable to most flotillas.
The Technology office does not take the place of any particular District 13 Program area, but strives to support and enhance areas where possible.
You are encouraged to contact the DSO-T if you have any ideas that may be helpful to the Flotilla Commanders or other areas that you feel appropriate.

What's New in T
The Technology Office evaluated several products that provide free teleconferencing applications during the past year. The research and testing provided us with a usable product that can be made available free to all flotillas and hopefully increase their member participation.
The “FreeConferenceCall” application proved to be the one of choice for ease of use and setup. Flotillas can get help with this application by contacting the DSO-T at their convenience.
The “in-person” meeting is usually the most valuable in member participation, but the reality is that some members—due to vacations, training schedules, health reasons, geographic location, etc…-- cannot attend as many meetings as they would like. With a viable electronic meeting capability these members can now attend a meeting and stay-in-touch with the flotilla activities via a remote connection..
