Return to District 13's Home Page.
The Communications Services (CS) Department is responsible for the Internet presence of District 13 and all Divisions and Flotillas within the district. We facilitate member access to Auxiliary information.
Our Main Tasks and Programs:
- Maintaining the District 13 website.
- Providing assistance to CS officers.
- Reviewing Flotilla and Division websites for National approval.
- Managing the Easy Reports staff officer reporting system.
Auxiliary flotilla, division and district websites connect members with information and they are a public face of our organization, and reflect on the US Coast Guard.
Division and Flotilla websites are encouraged to creatively showcase who we are and what we do. That said, when doing so, please keep in mind that whatever you do reflects on both the Auxiliary and the Coast Guard, and should adhere to Public Affairs and External Affairs manuals. Websites should fit in with our national branding.
2024 CS Goals
Goal #1: Establish a program to ensure that all Division and Flotilla websites are Websites without Webmasters (WOW) compliant.
Goal #2: Ensure that the websites contain current information. Some websites have not been updated for several years and list “dated” information.
Strategy: The DSO-CS and their ADSO's must give training sessions either in person or through video conferencing to the flotillas and divisions throughout District 13 to bring their websites current.
Goal # 3: The DSO-CS through their ADSOs should monitor and check the flotilla/division websites at least once a quarter to insure they are being kept current. They are our connection with the public and should be the same for our membership.
