- USCG Auxiliary Surface Facility Identification (Facility Call Sign) = AUXPAD and the five character Hull Serial Number. The serial number breaks down in this order: WEM is the manufacturer's Identification Code, ELA29 is the Hull Serial Number, A9 is the date of manufacture (January 9), 21 is the model year. For this kayak, the Facility Call Sign would be "AUXPAD ELA29"

Stand Up Paddle Board Basics
Provides an in depth review of paddle boards, fins, paddles, leashes, holding
the paddle, standing up on the paddle board, stances, basic strokes, falling

provide Auxiliarists with the knowledge needed to interact with stand up paddle
boarders while on shore, in stores and at events, or on the water.
The District Eight AUXPAD Instruction necessitates Vessel Examiners (VEs) conducting Vessel Safety Checks (VSC) on paddlecrafts to receive additional training on these unique vessels. Below is the District Eight Course for VE. This presentation materials meets the condition established in District Eight Instruction for VSC by VEs. All materials should be presented AS IS with no changes. If you have recommendations, updates, or notice errors that need to be addressed, please contact the regional AUXPAD Coordinator.
The District Eight Course for VEs is designed to be given in two parts (Parts A and B). Each part or session should take around 50-60 mins. The presentation should be given by qualified VE with an Instructor (IT) qualification. However, it may also be taught by VEs without an IT qualification. If taught by a non IT qualified VE the member shall review workshop material with a qualified IT prior to delivering the workshop. The Flotilla Commander has the final say in the selection of the presenter and the duration of workshop (one or two settings or sessions). Below is a Lesson Plan Outline to assist the presenter in the delivery of the course.
