Return to Flotilla 8-4's Home Page.

I was unsuccessful in convincing the Association to give us a direct link to the donation page that has been set specifically for individual Flotillas.  While they agreed it was a good idea, Legal had an issue with it because of the concept that Flotillas are not allowed to raise money.  Despite the argument that we would not be using the link to raise money but simply directing the public on how to do so when they themselves request, it was no go at this time.  Therefore, I have come up with a workaround.

The basic idea would be a DONATE button on the front page fairly prominent so that when a VE has someone who wants to donate they just have tell them to go to our homepage.  That DONATE button would bring them to a sub-page where you have the following instructions.  Feel free to re-write or improve on.

1.Thank you for considering a donation to the operating expenses of our Flotilla.  Your support will be used to further the goal of boating safety in Sarasota.
2.Please go to the following link:  Donate (cgauxa.org)
3.Select USCG Auxiliary Unit Donations: Support a Specific Unit
4.Choose the amount you would like to donate and select Continue
5.Complete your payment details and Select Continue
6.Enter our Unit Number:  070-08-04 and Select Continue
7.Enter your Credit Card information and Select Finish
8.The Association will send you a confirmation of your Donation and documentation for tax deduction purposes
End of Instruction.  Feel free to add a finish Thank You message or move the initial Thank You to the bottom.
The Association will take care of sending a Thank You note although our Flotilla should probably develop a form letter that the FC can sign and mail.  This assumes the donator doesn’t select Anonymous which is an option.
My understanding is that the Association will inform the flotilla when they receive a donation in our name and direct deposit the amount into the account National has on file.
Let me know if there are any questions.
