There are many sources for uniforms and uniform parts.  The following are few sources from which to order uniforms as well as links to information about proper wear plus pictures of various uniform parts.
 
Auxiliary Center (AUXCEN)
District material stores provided on-line.  Use your AuxDirectory username and password to log on.
 
Ultra Thin magnets allow you to attach ribbons to your shirt without poking holes.

Wearing the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary uniform is a privilege. The word uniform implies consistency and conformance to certain standards. When you wear the uniform you are representing the U.S. Coast Guard and USCG Auxiliary. Wear the uniform with pride! (Auxiliary Manual COMDTINST M16790.1G Chapter 10 – Section C.3 “Uniformity in Grooming and Appearance”)


The following are tips to keep your uniforms sharp and presentable:

  • Have the ODU Dry Cleaned. Uniforms will deteriorate more rapidly when cleaned
    via regular washing.
  • Keep Uniforms clean and pressed
  • Collar Insignia should be sewn on and NOT velcroed
  • Cover uniforms and keep them out of sunlit areas when they are not worn regularly

Coast Guard Auxiliary Uniforms


The working uniform of the USCG Auxiliary is the Operational Dress Uniform (ODU). This uniform is worn when the Auxilarist when performing duties within the boat crew program and vessel exams. Additional information may be found with in chapter 10 of the Auxiliary Manual.

Uniform items are purchased through the Coast Guard Exchange.
Check the fitting guide before ordering — the sizing is not what you are used
to with civilian clothes.

ODU Blouse



ODU Auxiliary Tape

The ODU Auxiliary Tape is sewn on the ODU Blouse on the persons LEFT above the pocket. It must extend the full width of the pocket and the ends must be turned under prior to sewing.



ODU Name Tape

The ODU Name Tape is sewn on the ODU Blouse on the persons RIGHT above the pocket. It must extend the full width of the pocket and the ends must be turned under prior to sewing.



Blousing Straps

The Blousing straps are placed around pant bottom and bloused over the top of the boot. It is recommended to purchase 4 straps.



ODU Belt

The ODU Belt is worn within the belt loops of the ODU Pant and under the ODU Blouse. Order the black belt and black buckle.

ODU Tee Shirt

The ODU Tee Shirt is worn under the ODU Blouse.



ODU Collar Device

The Collar Device is sewn on the corners of the ODU Blouse at a45 degreeangle. One device is sewn on each collar.



ODU Cover (Ball Cap)

Only ball caps made of ODU material are authorized to wear. Embroidered cap ornamentation are NOT authorized.



ODU Cover Insignia

The ODU Cover Insignia is worn in the middle of the ball cap face.
