2018 AUX-06 Aid to Navigation, Bridge & Chart Updating C-School

** Note:  Attending this "C" School does not qualify you as an Aids Verifier. You must complete the Aids Veifier PQS to obtain that qualification.


June 15-17, 2018 at Coast Guard Training Center Yorktown


Short Term Training Requests should be sent to your DIRAUX.  Please also send a copy to AUX-06 Coordinator.

Priority Codes for Block 15 on the form are: 

  • Priority 1 - Candidates must be recently assigned as a Navigation Systems Staff Officer any level. Aid Verifier qualification is required.
  • Priority 2 - Navigation Systems Staff Officer who does NOT hold AV qualification;
  • Priority 3 - all others based on available space..

Candidates and instructors that have not completed their mandated training cannot and will not be issued orders for this or any “C” school.

This school is designed to provide training in all four Auxiliary Navigation Systems Programs - Federal Aids, Private Aids, Bridge Administration and Chart Updating programs. The aim of the NS C-School is to train a cadre of Auxiliary leaders who will promote the NS programs in their District and develop new and lasting programs and relationships with the Coast Guard in support of the goals and objectives of the Auxiliary Aids to Navigation / Chart Updating program. There is only one class convening scheduled each year.

Who May Attend

Candidates must be recently assigned as FSO-NS (Flotilla Staff Officer - Navigation Systems), SO-NS (Division Staff Officer - Navigation Systems or DSO (or ADSO-NS (District or Assistant District Staff Officer - Navigation Systems)).  Aid Verifier qualification is required.

COMDT (CG-54211) must approve all waivers.
