How to Request Interpreter Services

Requesting support from the USCG Auxiliary Interpreter Corps is easy.

 Email your request to:
with following information:
  • Dates of need or document deadline
  • Languages requested
  • Brief description of mission
  • Is this for document translation only? (typically performed remotely)
  • Or Is the interpretation needed in-person?  This requires USCG travel orders.

Once a request is received, the International Directorate’s Deployments Division will find the best suited and available interpreter. Based on the needs of the request, we will search either locally or across all Districts of the Auxiliary, vetting candidates to find the best resources based on the needs of the request.

After finding the right interpreter, the Deployments Division can assist  in readiness planning, obtaining orders, setting up E2 electronic travel accounts, and arranging travel to facilitate the process.

OTHER WAYS TO REQUEST INTERPRETER SERVICES

The best way to request linguist services is by contacting the I-Directorate using the email above as we have the most up-to-date knowledge and expertise and can execute requests most expeditiously. Obtaining units may however also reach out to their Auxiliary Liaison Officers, Auxiliary Sector Coordinators, or a DIRAUX office.

OBTAINING UNITS AND AUXILIARY DISTRICTS SHOULD INFORM I-DIRECTORATE STAFF AT [email protected] IN ADVANCE FOR ALL AUX INTERPRETERS APPOINTED DIRECTLY BY THEM, SO WE CAN TRACK AND REPORT MISSIONS AS WELL AS FOR POTENTIAL LIABILITY AND ACCOUNTABILITY PURPOSES.
