The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary is the civilian component of the United States Coast Guard originally founded in 1939 by an Act of Congress as the US Coast Guard Reserves and re-designated the US Coast Guard Auxiliary in 1941. It is the largest all volunteer organization in the world.  The 30,000 members (men and women) volunteer more than 2 million hours annually to benefit other boaters and their families. Auxiliary members assist the US Coast Guard and other Local Agencies in non-law enforcement programs such as public education, vessel safety checks, safety patrols, search and rescue, maritime security, and environmental protection. Our Motto is: Semper Paratus (Always Prepared).
