USCG AUX EMBLEM

The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary was established by Congress in 1939 to assist in the promotion of boating safety across the United States. The Auxiliary today is nearly 21,000 members strong nation wide from all walks of life who receive specialized training so that they may assist Team Coast Guard when needed. Here are just a few examples of the services provided: Public Safety Education, Vessel Examination Safety Checks, Marine Safety Patrols, Aids to Navigation Verification, and Search and Rescue support.

US Coast Guard Station (Small) Alpena

Located in Alpena Michigan is used by both Active Duty and Auxiliary Members of Flotilla 26-04. Together we handle many of the Coast Guard's critical mission needs on Lake Huron. Station Alpena has an Area of Responsibility which runs from Sturgeon Point to Stone Port Harbor.

PLEASE NOTE:
USCG Auxiliarists do not conduct law enforcement actions.

Auxiliarists throughout the United States volunteer many hours annually to benefit other boaters and their families.

The Coast Guard Auxiliary is always looking for volunteers to help support the Coast Guard's mission to educate and assist public boaters. We serve our country and our community by contributing to the safety and security of our citizens, ports, waterways, and coastal regions. To be a part of this organization, which has an honorable history and mission, start by visiting the Membership link below. Contact our Flotilla for more information.
