Our auxiliary supports the USCG Station Sand Key, Clearwater Air Station, and St. Petersburg Sector.
Our duties provide assistance with search and rescue both on sea and air, C-130 training, marine environmental safety and protection, recreational vessel safety exams, boat safety courses and navigation courses, and constant upgrading our education requirements to better support the Coast Guard in all categories. The USCG auxiliary is the civilian uniformed component of the U. S. Coast Guard under Homeland Security. Congress established this group on 23 June 1939 as USCG Reserve.
