Welcome to the Flotilla 10-5, District 5SR Web Site

Flotilla 10-5  U.S. COAST GUARD AUXILIARY

Auxiliary and Coast Guard working together at sea

We are one of the largest and most active Auxiliary flotillas on the East Coast. This unit website is provided as a resource for boaters, flotilla members, prospective members and others interested in boating in southeastern Brunswick County.

Flotilla 10-5 has an area of responsibility (AOR) extending from the North Carolina-South Carolina border, near Calabash and Sunset Beach, to the railroad bridge over the Cape Fear River in Wilmington, NC. We meet on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 1900 hours at the US Coast Guard Station Oak Island, 300A Caswell Beach Road, Oak Island, NC.

Flotilla 10-5 Activities

In fact, there are nearly two dozen "qualifications" open to Auxiliarist willing to put in the time and training. This training is also a good way to learn the safe and unsafe waters within our AOR and how to pilot large and small boats. Nationwide about 30,000 men and women are currently volunteering for the Coast Guard Auxiliary. With the necessary training, it is possible to assist with any of the US Coast Guard missions, except law enforcement and military action. In many areas, Auxiliarists are the Coast Guard's only link with the public.

Please check out the adjacent Headings and our Facebook page for more information about our flotilla.
