Since 1939, the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary has safeguarded our
Nation’s maritime interests in the coastal areas and the heartland, at sea, and
around the globe. We are the uniformed
volunteer component of the US Coast Guard that protects the boating public, the
maritime economy and the marine environment, defends our maritime borders, and assists
those in peril.

WHAT WE DO
Division 10 supports the primary mission of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary: To contribute to the safety
and security of our citizens, ports, waterways and coastal regions. We balance our missions of Recreational Boating Safety and Coast Guard Support with Maritime Homeland Security and other challenges. To fulfill this mission, we conduct the following operations.
- Safety and Security Patrols – Surface and Air
- Search and Rescue
- Radio Communications
- Recreational Boating Safety
- Recreational and Commercial Fishing Vessel Exams
- Public Education
- Pollution Patrols & Response
- Homeland Security
WHERE DO YOU FIT IN?
If you are at least 17 years of age, an American citizen and live in southeastern North Carolina, we have a place for you in one the flotillas of Division 10. When you join us, you could find yourself saving lives, educating the public, conducting vessel safety checks, protecting the environment, guarding our shores and more. That’s our job, every day. We don't just train you. We train you to perform.
