Welcome to the Division 18, District 5NR Web Site
Established by Congress in 1939, the United Coast Guard Auxiliary is the civilian volunteer arm of the United States Coast Guard. We are 30,000 volunteer men and women who donate our time and expertise to support the Coast Guard and improve boating safety.
Established in 1967, Division 18 is a member of Fifth Northern Region (D5NR). District Five Northern Region (D5NR) is a sub-unit of the Coast Guard District Five with headquarters in Portsmouth, VA. The D5NR Area of Responsibility (AOR) is the same geographic region as U.S. Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay - which is headquartered in Philadelphia, PA.
The US Coast Guard Auxiliary is involved in many aspects of boating, from patrols in the air and on the water, to public education on marine safety, and in working with local schools and marinas for boating safety education. We also perform FREE vessel safety checks for non-commercial vessels and assist the US Coast Guard to safety check commercial vessels as well.
There are many opportunities for new members to join with us to promote safety and security on the water. We invite you to contact any of our flotillas for more information on joining the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary - a volunteer organization that is Always Ready (Semper Paratus).
