Flotilla 15-10 Operations Department is responsible for the planning, scheduling and implementation of our on the water patrols. We use our personally owned boats, called Facilities, which have been specially equipped and approved by the United States Coast Guard to operate under official orders on Lake Hopatcong.

If you are interested in 'learning' more about our Flotilla and what we do to promote and encourage boating "safety at the Lake, feel free to attend one of our regular monthly meetings noted on our home page and calendar, or contact us using the contact link on the left menu.

We provide 'on the water' 'training for our members, to Coast Guard standards, in becoming qualified as crew members and coxswains for our surface patrols.

Also, we monitor the 'safety of all the vessels we observe in our operating area. We are focused on "boating safety" for our crew and the boating public. Therefore, one of our most important activities on patrol is to participate in "Search and Rescue" efforts for individuals or vessels in distress. If there are no private towing sources available, we will tow disabled vessels to a safe location. In addition to our routine patrols, we also assist in "safety zone control at public marine events such as "fireworks displays", swim meets, and kayak races. We also verify the proper location and operation of various 'types of 'Aids to Navigation, such as buoys, bridge "lights, and controlled areas (no wake, swimming) etc.
