 Division 22 of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary -1SR District.  The flotilla supports Coast Guard Station - Eatons Neck, on Long Island Sound. Flotilla 22-1, based in Huntington, NY, is an operational flotilla of

 

The Coast Guard Auxiliary is the volunteer, uniformed arm of the U.S. Coast Guard. Congress established the unit on June 23, 1939, as the United States Coast Guard Reserve. On February 19, 1941, the organization was re-designated as the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary. We are committed to helping the Coast Guard ensure our Nation's maritime safety, security and stewardship.

Public Education

They say that knowledge is power.  On the water, the right knowledge can save lives and increase enjoyment of boating.

The Coast Guard Auxiliary teaches state and federal boating safety classes. The auxiliary also teaches classes in advanced boating skills such as navigation.

 Vessel Safety Check

A Vessel Safety Check is a courtesy examination of your watercraft to verify the presence and condition of safety equipment required by State and the Federal regulations. The Vessel Examiner is a trained Coast Guard Auxiliary specialist who will work with you to help ensure that your vessel has all the required, and recommended safety gear on-board.

Safety Patrols


Qualified and certified Coast Guard Auxiliary personal assist the US Coast Guard with safety patrols on the water as well as in the air.

Patrols include search-and-rescue as well as training missions.

Large on-water gatherings such as boat parades, blessings of the fleet, boat races, hot-air-balloon races, group swimming events, and even Lighthouse concerts are often staffed by volunteers with the Coast Guard Auxiliary.

 

 

 



ATON (Aids To Navigation) Verification IconATON Verification


Aids to Navigation (ATON) include the buoys, floating signs, and fixed navigation aids that boaters count on to safely navigate our waterways. The Coast Guard Auxiliary helps local, state and federal governments confirm the location of and proper features of these aids.
