Cold Water Boaters Notice

"Anyone underway in a boat less than 21 feet in length any time between November 1 and May 1 must wear  a securely fastened life jacket.  This includes canoes, kayaks, rowboats and motorboats.  Commercial vessels are exempt." The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary is the volunteer branch of the United States Coast Guard, established by Congress in 1939 to assist in promoting boating safety.  Today, there are about 30,000 active Auxiliary members throughout the United States.

Division 22 patrols the Long Island Sound from Matinecock Point to Mount Sinai Harbor, serving the Long Island community in New York State north of the Long Island Expressway, from the Bayville Bridge to the William Floyd Parkway.  The controlling Coast Guard Unit is Station Eatons Neck, Northport, NY.  Division 22 consists of seven Flotillas, based (from west to east) in Oyster Bay, Cold Spring Harbor, Huntington, Northport, Fort Salonga, Stony Brook, and Port Jefferson.

All members and guests are welcome to attend any meeting of the Division or its Flotillas.
