Located in North East, Bergen County, New Jersey, Flotilla 10-08 offers its members the ability to serve their country as Americas Volunteer Guardians while receiving free training in areas such as: Search & Rescue, Navigation, Weather, Crew & Coxswain.

On November 2nd, members of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary joined the active duty U.S. Coast Guard Security Forces to help secure the starting point of the NYC Marathon at USCG Sector NY in Staten Island. Bravo Zulu to our own David Dafinoiu and Bill Lissemore, who represented Flotilla 10-08, along with other Auxiliarists from throughout the Northeast District and beyond. This year, 86 Auxiliarists participated in the event, which is the highest number ever.
According to Captain Andrechik, who is the Commanding Officer of Sector New York and Captain of the port, "the Auxiliary really made a difference", as we nearly tripled the number of active-duty personnel present, allowing over 58,000 runners to transit through the USCG property safely and have a great marathon day.

Important New Jersey Boating Regulation Information
As of June 1, 2009, all persons MUST have taken an approved boating safety course and posses a Boating Safety Certificate to operate any power vessel over 12' long on New Jersey tidal or inland waters. All persons operating a personal watercraft must also possess a Boating Safety Certificate.
