The Coast Guard and The Coast Guard Auxiliary embrace diversity in our Flotillas, our Divisions, our entire organization and our nation!

The National Commodore's policy on diversity can be found here

Imagine a toolbox with hundreds of the same wrench. Maybe a couple are a little longer or shorter, a couple are older and a few are newer, but they're the same type and fit the same size bolt.

Not a very useful toolbox!

Now consider a toolbox like the one you probably have seen at your mechanic's shop. Lots of different wrenches, sizes and shapes. Lots of different screwdrivers and pliers. Hammers and even power tools. Now that's useful. That's Diversity.

By celebrating and embracing what makes us different, we make us stronger, more capable and more useful, just like that diverse set of tools.
