Woods Hole Flotilla Area of Responsibility

Auxiliary Flotilla 013-11-02, Woods Hole, MA is one of six Flotillas within Division 11, Cape and Islands. The Division is within the Coast Guard Auxiliary's First District, Northern Region, which is part of the First Coast Guard District.

Our Area of Responsibility (AOR) includes the coastal waters and harbors along the coastline of the Town of Falmouth. This includes portions of Buzzards Bay from Woods Hole to Nyes Neck in North Falmouth. We are also responsible for the coastal waters of Vineyard Sound from Woods Hole along Falmouth Harbor, as well as coastal areas and harbors of Nantucket Sound from Falmouth Heights to Hyannis. In addition, our AOR includes the northern harbors of Martha's Vineyard including Edgartown, Oak Bluffs, Vineyard Haven and Lake Tashmoo.

This is one of the most scenic areas in the country. Its many harbors and waterways are heavily used year-round by commercial fishing and shipping vessels, ferries to/from Martha's Vineyard and the Elizabeth Islands, research vessels from Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute (WHOI) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), as well as recreational vessels of all sizes and styles from kayaks to luxury yachts.

We augment Coast Guard active duty personnel at the U.S Coast Guard Small Boat Station Woods Hole, the Woods Hole Aids to Navigation Team (ANT), as well provide support to Sector Southeastern New England, and Air Station Cape Cod located on Joint Base Cape Cod.

We are always looking for new members. To learn more contact the Human Resources Staff Officer for the Woods Hole Flotilla.
