Division 10 and flotilla 6 of Wilmington are pleased to announce that Abbey Holloman of Cape Fear Sea Scouts Ship 2003, last year's Boatswain and current Boatswain Mate, has been selected to sail on the Coast Guard Cutter Eagle from Boston to New London this August.

Abigail Holloman, Ship 2003, Sea Scouts Cape Fear Council is one of six selected to sail on the Coast Guard Cutter Eagle this summer.  Scouts have been doing this since 1947, but each year no more than 10 scouts from across the United States get this opportunity.  The Eagle is a U.S. Coast Guard training ship for cadets.  It is a steel-hulled fully rigged Barque dating back to 1936.  It is 15-story tall with 23 sails.  This year the Eagle departs port in Boston, MA on August 10th and sails to New London, CT arriving on August 16th.  Wilmington USCG Auxiliary 10-6 is the chartering organization for Ship 2003.  Ship 2003 meets Monday evenings at Coast Guard Sector North Carolina Headquarters in Wilmington from 7 to 8:30pm.
