 Communications is responsible for, or facilitates the following:

• Coordinating authorized Aux activities in support of USCG Operations
  
• Augmenting the USCG communications system, when required
  
• Communicating urgent matters of official Auxiliary business 
• Assisting national resources in time of disaster
  
• Training & qualifying Aux telecommunications operators and watchstanders
• Assisting the Director of Auxiliary (DIRAUX) in inspecting and qualifying Aux radio facilities
