2024 Current Flotilla 10-05 projects
The Coast Guard Auxiliary is evolving, embracing new projects and responsibilities based upon the needs of The Active-Duty Coast Guard. We have been asked to assist in new and different areas that will enhance The Active Duty’s operational capabilities.
Here is a closer look at Flotilla 10-05’s initiatives and the expertise required to support these endeavors:
- Managing Oak Island Station’s Procurement Program
Flotilla 10-05 has been asked to pilot a program in the US aimed at delegating station procurement responsibilities to Auxiliarists.
The role demands a deep understanding of supply chain management, familiarity with creating and managing purchase orders, and the ability to consult effectively with vendors. Experience in logistics or a related field would be beneficial, as would strong organizational skills.
- Utilizing Microsoft Power Apps to streamline everyday Coast Guard
Flotilla 10-05 members have been asked to work with Station Oak Island personnel to assist with the adoption & training of Microsoft Power Apps capabilities.
With technology playing a pivotal role in streamlining processes, training personnel to use Microsoft Power App is crucial. The ideal candidate for this task would have a solid background in IT, experience with Microsoft Power Apps, and the ability to teach complex concepts in an accessible manner.
- Flotilla 10-05 assisting active duty with Microsoft Office Training
Flotilla 10-05 members have scheduled PowerPoint & Excel training with Station personnel
Offering training to the “gold side” necessitates expertise in these applications and the ability to convey information effectively to a diverse audience
Future Assistance areas for Flotilla 10-05
- **Investment Advice**: Providing financial guidance requires not only a solid foundation in finance and investment strategies but also an understanding of the unique needs of military personnel.
- **Drone Operation**: As a trained drone operator, one must possess technical proficiency, a keen eye for detail, and knowledge of the regulations governing drone flights.
- **Containership Inspection**: This role involves meticulous diligence, knowledge of maritime regulations, and a background in maritime security or safety inspections.
- **Sector NC Comm Center Duties**: Working at the communications center requires strong communication skills, the ability to handle high-stress situations, and familiarity with Coast Guard communication protocols.
These projects and roles represent a significant shift towards a more integrated and technologically adept Coast Guard Station. The expertise required spans various disciplines, highlighting the importance of a multifaceted skill set in modern military operations.

National Commodore Three Star Award
The NACO Three Star Award for Excellence in Diversity is an annual accolade designed to honor Flotillas and Divisions distinguished in their management and appreciation of diversity.
The award this year was once again bestowed upon Flotilla 10-05, marking the fourth consecutive year of their achievement. Congratulations to all the leaders, staff, and members of Auxiliary Flotilla 10-05.
