Uniform Procurement and Wear
There will be a Uniform of the Day (UOD) listed for all events that we participate in, with our flotilla or with other units of the USCG Auxiliary or US Coast Guard . The main uniforms are Tropical Blue Long (Trops) and Operational Dress Uniform (ODU). Appropriate civilian attire may be an option at some events. If you do not have the appropriate uniform and civilian attire is not an option, you may be asked not to participate. The uniforms we wear are US Coast Guard and need to be worn properly. This is a reflection on the USCG Auxiliary and the US Coast Guard. Many people in the public do not know the difference between Active Duty and Auxiliary.

Tropical Blue Long (Trops): This uniform is the light blue short-sleeve shirt with epaulets worn with soft shoulder boards, Auxiliary qualification devices and ribbons, and plastic name tag (tie is not worn with this uniform). CG Service Dress trousers or (women only) may wear CG Service Dress skirt. Black web silver buckle and tip belt (with pants) is to be worn, black socks and black dress shoes. Men must wear a white V-neck T-shirt (T-shirt is not to be visible). Authorized covers are Garrison cap or Combination cap. Authorized Woolly Pulley or Cardigan sweaters may be worn.

Operation Dress Uniform (ODU):
ODU Coat (Shirt Unisex) Coast Guard Blue. Proper wear: the ODU coat may be worn with sleeves rolled up accordion style with only the cuff showing, or with sleeves down. If rolled, the cuff should be approximately 2” above the elbow (mid-bicep). Undershirt: Coast Guard Blue “T” Shirt, Round Collar (crew neck). Insignia: Sew-on only .Auxiliary: U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary; Last Name. The member’s last name goes over the right pocket and U.S. COAST GUARD AUXILIARY over the left. Velcro tapes are optional. Direct embroidery and plastic name tags are prohibited. Member Devices must be sew-on. Trousers (Unisex): ODU Coast Guard Blue Trousers worn with Trouser blousing bands ,but bands must not be visible. Standard black web with metal tip or optional Rigger belt. 8”-10” plain black safety boot (i.e. Super Boot II) Safety boots must have a safety toe that conforms with ANSI standards Z41-1999. Black undecorated socks. Cover Auxiliary Dark Blue Ball Cap: USCG Auxiliary or USCG arched over Auxiliary. Member device or office insignia centered in middle.
