Flotilla 25-6 What's New!

 Annual Occoquan-Fairfax Flotilla Picnic

The annual Flotilla Picnic takes the place of the regularly scheduled Flotilla meeting in the month of May. Everyone meets at the Mount Vernon Yacht club for Willard's barbeque and fellowship. This year it didn't rain!

Annual Coast Guard Day Picnic 2019 - TISCOM

On August 4, 1790, Congress approved the creation of the Revenue-Marine Cutter Service, known today as the United States Coast Guard, active duty, retired, reserve and auxiliary members gather annually for the Coast Guard Day Picnic.

Volunteers who cheerfully donated their time and energy to support the Coast Guard picnic included Auxiliary members Delano White and Karen Murphy.

Every year Auxiliary members elect new leaders. This year Keith Economy and Joey Taguding will serve the Occoquan-Fairfax Flotilla as Flotilla Commander and Vice Flotilla Commander. (Joey far right, Keith second from right).

Sea Scout Commodore and new Auxiliary member, Todd Skiles presents the new AUXSCOUT program to the Occoquan-Fairfax Flotilla. A committee was formed to study the  possibility of chartering a Sea Scout Ship under the new trial Memorandum of Agreement and SOP.

Flags Across America Arlington Cemetery 

Flags Across America at Arlington National Cemetery was created by the Chief Petty Officers Association 20 years ago. Open to everyone, participants place flags at the headstones of Coast Guard members in November before Veteran's Day.
