Our Public Education Officer is in charge of our Public Education boating safety courses. We conduct these frequently each year.

A schedule of our current courses with a brief description is shown in the Boating Courses tab. Enter your zip code and a list of local classes will be displayed.  The "Flyer" and "Map" buttons to the right of each course will provide you with additional important class information.

About Boating Safely (ABS) is a basic boating safety course. Upon successful completion of the course and exam, the student will be entitled to receive a NJ Boating Safety Certificate, which is now required to operate a power boat in New Jersey.

Additional Details and enrollment requirements:

  1. A photo ID or Driver's License required for Adults. School ID or some other form of ID required for minors.
  2. All students are required to bring a pen, pencil and self-addressed stamped envelope.

The envelope is used to mail you the New Jersey Boating Safety Certificate. One envelope for multiple students at same address is okay.
