Welcome to the US Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 15-08 website!
The US Coast Guard Auxiliary was created by Congress in 1939 to assist active duty Coast Guard units with all their missions, excluding military and law enforcement. Today the Auxiliary assists in search and rescue missions, verifying aids to navigation, marine safety and environmental protection, vessel safety inspections, teaching boating safety classes, and much, much more!
Flotilla 15-08, based in Plattsburgh, NY, assists USCG Station Burlington VT on the beautiful and historic Lake Champlain.
Lake Champlain is 120 miles long and 12 miles wide (at it's widest point), and has an average depth of 64 feet, but it's deepest point is 400 feet. Lake Champlain has 71 islands and 587 miles of shoreline shared by New York, Vermont, and Quebec, Canada.
