Martin Joseph "Marty" Freeman

Marty Freeman, member of Flotilla 4-2, crossed over the bar on Saturday, March 26, 2022.

Marty Freeman 

Marty was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary and Flotilla 4-2 for over 37 years. 

He was a beloved member of the Flotilla, a mentor to many.  He always had a kind word and a smile. His knowledge and experience, along with his fellowship and demeanor, made everyone who knew him feel privileged.  He was counted on many times to provide his experience and acumen whenever the Flotilla was confronted with trying tasks or decisions.

His many certifications including:

  • Master Instructor
  • Boat Crew Member
  • Boat Coxswain
He served as various Flotilla Staff Officer positions including Member Training, Secretary as well as Vice Flotilla Commander

He is survived by his loving wife, Joanne and many loving family members.

He will be sorely missed.
